Ukraine cuts gas prices for households from May 1

The Ukrainian Government and NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine have agreed to lower regulated gas price for households and heat producers to market level from May 1, 2019, the company’s press service reports.

„On the instructions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Naftogaz and government representatives have developed a new mechanism to calculate regulated gas prices. This solution will help not only avoid an increase in gas price for households and heat producers from May 1, 2019, but it will also allow for a reduction in gas price to UAH 8,247 per 1,000 cubic meters (retail price). This pricing approach was agreed at a meeting attended by Ukraine’s Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolyev on April 22,” the report says.
